General Showing
From HelpWiki
- All horses can start showing at the age of 2.
- English horses ages 2 and 3 are in training classes. Once a horse turns 4, it can be in any grade from C to Olympic depending on if it was regularly founded (no credits), credit founded, or bred. All those are variables.
- A horse on English may continue to show until age 25 - provided the health is above 60%. If health falls below 60% the horse may need to visit the vet and/or farrier, or take a tonic.
- Show Grades start at Training for foals, then go from there:
Show Grades
C Circuit: 1-2
B Circuit: 3-10
A Circuit: 11-20
Grand Prix: 21-35
Olympic: 36+

++ Things to know to get the best from your horse ++
1. Make sure your horse has mixed feed (feed a couple of hays first then add the mixed feed. It will turn all the hay into mixed feed).
2. Make sure your horse is always healthy showing. I personally never let mine go in a show if they are 69% or lower. I always check to see if the vet and farrier are up to date, and if they are and the horse's health is still down, then I simply give a tonic.
3. Make sure your horses have the best tack and you have the
best clothes
- for upgraded members it's:
rank 24 boots and breeches,
rank 17 helmet and chaps,
rank 16 gloves,
rank 15 shirt and jacket...
- for NON-upgraded members:
the best tack
- for upgraded members it's:
rank 19 pad,
rank 17 bridle,
rank 16 girth,
rank 15 halter and bit, and any crop;
- for NON-upgraded members it's:
r12 bridle,
r10 girth, bit, halter, and pad, and any crop).
- It's hard to find the best items, and they don't always pop up at the first. If you have a refresh button (I press F5), you can refresh the page to "scroll through" the items until you get what you want.
4. Vet and farrier horses nightly if needed. Groom, tack, clothe, and treat (from the main menu) every time before entering shows.
- There is no absolute proof that treating works. For some horses it does, for others, it doesn't. If you're willing to put in the time to see if it works for your horses, then that's great. Treating is not *necessary* but can be helpful to some.
5. Make sure your horse has "excellent" odds when in a show. (If you need help w/ this, let me know.) It is okay to enter a show with "high" odds if other shows are full, or you're entering a stable/club show. Just be sure to use the rider settings for the event you enter, not the settings for the horse.
6. Make sure your horse has the correct rider setting according to the personality and event. *Take lessons from a knowledgeable upgraded member who can correct what you do wrong, and make sure you're using them correctly.
7. If you give personal care to groom and tack and NOT use the Caretaker function, your horse should already be treated. If you use a caretaker function, then try using treats occasionally (or every day, if you want to!)
- Lots of love, care and attention is the most important thing. Even though this is a game, I've become very attatched to all of mine.
These work on any horse, any account, so don't think you're excluded. :-) Lots of time will allow you to have the top-notched horses too!
