Pedigree

When you look at a horse's pedigree, it is telling you who the Sire and Dam were and also the GrandSire and GrandDam of that horse. If you created (bought the horse from your main account page), then it will come up as Created underneath the horse's name. Horses that are created or founded, are more wanted because then there is no inbreeding between horses.

My horse has a "Deceased" horse in its pedigree. What does that mean?

1. If your horse's pedigree has a line that's listed as "deceased" then that means that horse has been put down or early retired. That simply means that it has been retired by someone by either deleting it's pedigree age 20 or after, or the owner clicked the vet link and clicked "early retirement."

Many players early retire a horse mainly because the line has been either overbred (a horse bred more than 5 times) or inbred (a mare bred to her son, a stallion bred to his mother/daughter). Although in real life, there are horses that are considered to be overbred or inbred, some players believe that overbreeding and inbreeding is taboo on WOSE. Breeding practices are simply up to the player.

2. Just because "deceased" shows up in a horse's pedigree, doesn't exactly mean that the horse comes from bad lines. There is a small glitch in the game that shows a superbly clean-lined horse as coming from a deceased horse. The only way to check if the "deceased" horse is truly deceased, is to just click on the link. If the game has glitched on this horse, the horse will come up with its picture and stats.
