Upgrade

 By spending a little money on an upgrade, you are essentially buying a bigger stables with the ability to do more things and use better ranked items to improve your horse's chances in shows.  Upgrades are the source of funding for the game, and the reason the owner can pay for the server costs each month.

There are four types of upgrades on the game.  The upgrades for english are for small stables, medium stables, large stables and Blue Ribbon upgrades.   All upgrades allow you to sell and purchase animals at the International Auction (once you buy a trailer), to enter monthly specials and have access to the stable-owner-only polls.  Any upgraded account also can purchase more rare items in the clothes and tack shops - allowing you to own higher ranked equipment which gives your horses boosts in shows.  Small stables allow you to sponsor one stable show a day, you can own up to 30 horses on your account you have the ability to buy stalls to board horses, and get a training license to become a riding instructor.  Medium stables allow you to buy more stalls for boarding, sponsor 2 stable shows a day, and own up to 40 horses.  Large stables allow you to own more stalls for boarding, sponsore up to 3 stable shows a day and own up to 50 horses, along with allowing you to register for your own 5mb sized @whiteoakstables.net email address. Blue ribbon stables offer you the ability to own the highest amount of stalls for boarders, sponsor up to 5 stable shows a day, own up to 75 horses per account and have your own personal @whiteoakstables.net email account with 10mb of storage space.

Another feature of the medium, large and BR stables is called "Away account."  This basically freezes the health and vitality of your horses while you are away from your computer for any length of time.  Horses still age, but their health doesn't drop which prevents them from being rescued due to lack of care.  (crickett)
